Mountain Heritage Literary Festival 2008

Darnell Arnoult, author of Sufficient Grace, taught the master class I attended at MHLF. It was excellent and well worth the cost of the festival.

Lee Smith author of Fair and Tender Ladies, On Agate Hill, and many others was the Keynote Speaker at the Festival. Visit Lee's website here. Ms. Smith was kind enough to sign all of my books.

Silas House addressed the attendees and presented the writing contest winners. Silas is writer-in-residence at Lincoln Memorial University. His works include Coal Tattoo, Clay's Quilt, A Parchment of Leaves, and others.

Barbara Smith performed her one-woman adaption of Lee Smith's novel, "On Agate Hill." Her performance, which brought the audience to tears, was one of the highlights of the Mountain Heritage Literary Festival 2008.
